Your Role as a Reviewer

  1. Review the Manuscript: As a reviewer, you are expected to impartially and independently evaluate the assigned manuscript. You should carefully examine the scientific quality, methods, results, and presentation of the paper.

  2. Confidentiality and Plagiarism Check: You should maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript during the review process and check for any instances of plagiarism. If you have concerns about plagiarism or ethical issues, report them to the editor.

  3. Provide Detailed and Clear Report: Write a referee report that clearly states the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript. Your comments should be supported with scientific reasoning.

  4. Recommendations and Suggestions: Identify any deficiencies or potential areas for improvement in the paper and provide constructive suggestions to the authors. This can contribute to enhancing the quality of the manuscript.

Timeline

  • Strive to communicate your decision to accept or reject the manuscript in a timely and efficient manner. In most cases, you are expected to convey whether the paper is accepted, rejected, or needs revision.

  • Ensure that you submit your referee report promptly. Timely reports are crucial for expediting the publication process.

After the Reviewing Task

  • As a reviewer, it is important to ensure that you have no conflicts of interest related to the manuscript or its authors. In the rare case that you recognize the authors or identify a conflict of interest after being assigned the manuscript, please notify the editor immediately to maintain the integrity of the review process.
