Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The International Journal of Gastronomy Research (IJGR) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in all stages of the publication process, including submission, evaluation, and decision-making. All parties involved—authors, reviewers, and editors—are expected to adhere to international ethical principles. The ethical policy of IJGR is based on the rules, practices, and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is outlined below:
1. AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES
-Originality: Submitted articles must be original works and should not have been published elsewhere or be under review at another publication.
-Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest at the time of writing the article. If there are any potential conflicts of interest, they should be clearly stated.
-Publication Permissions: Authors must ensure that all visual or written materials used in their articles are properly licensed, and sources must be clearly cited.
-Citations: Citations and references to other works should be appropriately cited, and any material taken from another work should be clearly indicated.
-Contribution: Each author contributing to this article must have made a significant intellectual or practical contribution to the research and must have approved the final content of the article.
-Plagiarism: Articles must be free from plagiarism and any form of intellectual property theft.
-Human and Animal Rights: If human or animal experiments are conducted in this article, they should have been carried out following the permissions and guidelines of the relevant ethical committees. Written consent from human subjects must be obtained for experiments involving them.
2. EDITOR RESPONSIBILITIES
-Conflicts of Interest: Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence their editorial decisions.
-Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and ensure the anonymity of reviewers.
-Fairness: Editorial decisions must be based solely on the quality and relevance of the manuscripts, without discrimination based on personal characteristics or beliefs.
-Ethical Concerns Editors must address any ethical concerns raised by authors, reviewers, or readers promptly and appropriately.
-Transparency: Editors must ensure transparency in the editorial process and provide clear communication to all parties involved.
-Quality: Editors must strive to maintain the quality and integrity of the journal's content.
3. REVIWER RESPONSIBILITIES
-Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all materials received for review as confidential and must not share or discuss them without authorization.
-Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality and decline the review if necessary.
-Objectivity and Fairness: Reviews must be conducted objectively, providing constructive feedback to authors without personal criticism.
-Ethical Concerns: If reviewers suspect any ethical misconduct, such as plagiarism or data fabrication, they must report it to the editor.
-Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their reviews within the specified timeframe and inform the editor if they cannot meet the deadline.
4. HANDLING of ETHICAL VIOLATIONS
The journal is committed to investigating and addressing any allegations of ethical misconduct. In case of proven violations, appropriate actions will be taken, including:
- Rejection or retraction of the manuscript.
- Informing the relevant institutions or authorities if necessary.
5. PLAGIARISM and DATA INTEGRITY
All manuscripts submitted to IJGR are screened for plagiarism and data fabrication. Any manuscript found to contain unethical content will be rejected, and authors will be informed.
